Our Story

For over two decades, Vista Hill has been a beacon of musical creativity and resilience. From a humble duo, we expanded to an 8-piece ensemble, and now, in our current form as a 4-piece  band, we continue to evolve, occasionally collaborating with guest members.

We got the band name from a very steep street in Great Neck called Vista Hill. Sherman used to ride bicycles, and the last part of his journey was always riding up Vista Hill. The man on his left shoulder would constantly whisper in his ear, "You'll never make it,"  while the man on his right shoulder would always encourage him, saying, "You can do it."  Such was the struggle and, ultimately, the name of the band.

We decided not to be a cover band. We loved creating and writing songs and wanted the audience's feedback on our tunes. We're proud to say we opened for such legendary greats as the band America, Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes, and Al DiMeola, to name a few.

We hope you enjoy our music.
